The day was warm. Warm enough so that Elizabeth Cooper was sweating in her thick, ripped dress that stuck to her sides, and she had to keep pulling her tangled, dirty brown hair off of her face, which was also sticky with sweat. She had tried to take her hair and tie it in a bun so it'd stay out of her face but of course that hadn't worked; it was too knotted and tangled for her to try to do anything with it.
Overall today she looked like a mess. Even if she was a pretty mess, she was still definitely a mess. She looked liked she hadn't bathed in months, and she probably didn't smell much better either. Not that she cared. She didn't care what people thought of her, so she didn't care if they thought she needed a bath or that she smelled horrible.
She wanted and needed to find a cool pond to swim in, preferably where no one was around to stare at her like she had three heads and then criticize her. She hated people like that. She didn't care if they thought poorly of her, but if they went out of their way to make that clear she'd loose her temper. Loosing her temper was definitely not uncommon for her.
She wondered for a moment if her nasty state would guilt-trip anyone into giving her the money she was begging for. Since nobody was really walking that close to her, she simply sat and watched them all, one hand wrapped around the old tin can she'd found on the streets and cleaned out for donations.
