A Plan?

With a heavy sigh, Mrs Lovett watched as her most recent customer left her shop, with that familiar look on their face. It was the old look she had gotten used to, but now that her pies were getting better, the look of disgust confused and hurt her. She needed Mr T to kill someone; otherwise she'd have to resort back to the cheap and disgusting meat she used to use for her old pies.
Since discovering that Mr T was in fact Benjamin Barker, the very man she had loved oh so long ago had brought life back into her. She was always cheerful now that he was back, and many people had started to notice this. Although she wasn't going to tell them the reason for her happiness, she couldn't exactly betray Mr T. That would be so awful.
Humming to herself, she began to tidy away all the dirt and leftovers from her recent pies that she'd made, it wouldn't be long now till closing time. And she knew what that meant, another moan about the judge not coming.
Although Nellie loved Sweeney so much, she could not stand another moan about how the judge hadn't come. She couldn't understand why he couldn't just enjoy how things were right now. He was successful, well known, and he had money to his name. And still all he wanted was revenge. Mrs Lovett could understand he was angry and hurt, but why couldn't he wait and savour the moment? She was certainly having fun, so why couldn't he?
Brushing some of the extra-unused flour onto the flour, Mrs Lovett sighed and put her elbows on her work surface and rested her head on her hands. Oh how she loved Mr T. She could be such a good wife to him. The two were meant to be, both were lost souls searching for something. If only he could see that all he needed was her. Then they could move to the seaside, get married and forget all their troubles. And Mrs Lovett would have Mr T far away from the truth.

A Plan?

The bell to the barbers shop door rang through the dark and murky room. Decoration wasn’t on top of the list of ‘Things to do’. Neither was cleaning up. The room held a single leather barber’s chair which was stained and old. A table stood behind it, holding some shaving cream and fragrances. There was a draw beneath the desk but it had been un-opened for years. A dusty cracked mirror showed the reflection of a man, the cobwebbed window his only light in the room, His pale skin and dark, sunken eyes, which didn’t hold any emotion - nor colour as they stayed a lifeless grey – his old, but comfy, clothing was not stained red for once and he knew he’d get grief once he decided to make his way down the stairs. His fake smile, which he had plastered on his lifeless face when his last customer had come in, turned into a look of pure agony as he placed the photograph he had been holding down, a photograph of a young woman and a baby, his Lucy and Darling Johanna.
He grinned, a lop-sided grin, and gave a small huffed laugh as he realized he’d been in trouble for not killing someone today. Ironic really as most people would get in trouble for killing someone. Then again if anyone besides Mrs. Lovett ever found out his secret then he would be in trouble for killing people. He couldn’t win either way although he had to admit killing people was fun. Even though the only real person he wanted to kill was the Judge Turpin. He slammed a fist down on the table which creaked and rocked, threatening to collapse. Anger took over him and he knocked the photograph down, cracking the frame slightly, before wheeling round and marching out of his barber shop to where Mrs. Lovett would be in her bakery, which was just below his barbers shop. He made his way down the stairs quickly and flung the door open. Causing another bell to clatter, he swore that one of these days he was going to pull them stupid bells down and crush them.
He sat down heavily on the somewhat comfy long window seat. Its grey fabric threadbare and worn and the lace curtains covering the windows. He always sat here for some bizarre reason. Perhaps it was because he could see the people outside but they couldn’t see him? Who knew? All he knew right now was that he wanted a drink and Mrs. Lovett was stood there doing nothing. He looked up at her, daydreaming as usual, why did nothing ever change around here? ”All he has to do is come for a shave, why hasn’t he come yet? He said he would and he hasn’t. It’s not like it’s going to kill him or anything...” he stopped mid-rant and laughed. How ironic that was? ‘Wasn’t like it was going to kill him’. Well the shave wasn’t, Sweeney was. He looked from the dusty table to Mrs. Lovett. His grin, which made him look evil, still on his face. ”How about a drink?” he asked her. Hoping she had got his moment of humour. At least it stopped his rant, he knew how much she hated his rants. She always told him to ”Bide his time” and ”Savour the moment”. That was women though and they never understood anything. Although Mrs. Lovett did understand him quite well.
He turned his attention back to the table. Running his finger along a pattern in the wood, well not exactly patterns more places where Sweeney had taken his anger out on the table when he’d had a knife on him. Well it was better he take it out on the wood then on Mrs. Lovett. He moved his other hand to the holster on his belt where a knife still sat. Sharp and waiting for when it would need to do it’s deed. He pulled it out and admired it. How he did love his knives. The only thing left from his old life, apart from a couple of stained photographs and the stuff in the draw which no-one knew about.

A Plan?

Hearing the familiar ring of the bell as her door to the shop opened, Mrs Lovett looked up and her eyes grew soft as they rested upon the figure of Sweeney Todd. He was such a handsome man. even now. Of course, his looks fifteen years ago had been grand, but something about his new look really warmed Mrs Lovett's heart. And although other's couldn't see it, she could see Benjamin Barker in him. And that was what she loved.
As he sat down heavily, Mrs Lovett sighed quietly, he was probably upset about the judge. And it was her job to cheer him up, like always. She wished that the bloody judge would come, that way her and Mr Todd could start a life together. But she tried not to show her frustration, Mr Todd was going through a tough time, and she would do all she could to help him. And then once the judge was dead, they could move somewhere quiter and grow old together.
Listening closely to Mr Todd's words, sge sighed and shook her head. Before she could say anything he laughed, and Mrs Lovett couldn't deny herself to laugh as well. It truely was ironic, if the Judge even set foot in here he'd be dead, and Mrs Lovett would finally be able to serve Judge on the menu. It would make a change to what there usualy was, it was mostly low lives, those who wouldn't be missed. It be good to have some proper good meat.
Finishing off with the cleaning, she looked oer at Sweeney and nodded at his request. "I've got some Gin left over. The customers went mad on it today." Without saying anything else, Mrs Lovett went into her home and found the Gin. It been put back on the top shelf, well away from the reach of Toby. She did like the boy, but he would drink her out of buisness if she let him have that Gin again. He drunk it like it was the last bottle on the planet. Which was annoying, because Mrs Lovett knew that Todd wanted his fair share, after all. It was him who provided the meat for the pies.
Getting a glass, she walked back and poured the drink for Mr Todd. Giving the table a quick whipe, she threw he duster onto her work table and sat opposite Sweeney. "Now my dear..." Mrs Lovett paused, she had to choose her words carefully. If she said the wrong thing, she could end up making Mr Todd angry, or she could send him off on a rant, she didn't want to do either, but she still felt like they should talk. "How are you feeling today?" [/size]
